Sunflower microgreens are one of the most beloved crops in the microgreens world—their thick, meaty stems and large, satisfying cotyledons deliver a rich, nutty flavor reminiscent of sunflower seeds, with a hearty, satisfying texture that stands apart from more delicate microgreens. A valuable source of vitamins B, D, and E as well as essential fatty acids, they're as nutritionally impressive as they are delicious, perfect for adding substance and crunch to salads, sandwiches, wraps, and grain bowls.
Grow in trays using coconut coir or potting mix—soak sunflower seeds for 8–12 hours before planting to improve germination and uniformity. Use a blackout dome for the first few days to encourage strong, upright stem development.
