Mortgage Lifter Tomato has one of the most legendary backstories in American heirloom gardening—developed in the 1930s by Radiator Charlie, who sold his plants for $1 each and paid off his mortgage in 6 years. This massive indeterminate heirloom produces huge, meaty pink beefsteak fruits weighing 1–2 pounds each with the rich, old-fashioned tomato flavor that modern supermarket varieties have entirely lost. Slice it thick, eat it with nothing but salt, and taste what a real tomato actually tastes like.

Growing Instructions: Start indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost under grow lights. Transplant after last frost when nighttime temperatures consistently stay above 50°F. Provide sturdy caging or staking—indeterminate plants grow 5–7 feet tall. Feed regularly with a balanced fertilizer for maximum fruit development.
